I'm Dr Neeraj Purohit, a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist, and I love what I do—especially when it comes to getting accurate diagnoses, using minimally invasive treatments, and making sure care is all about the patient.

I graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School in 2001. As a junior doctor, I spent a year in Sydney, Australia, working at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. That's where I found my passion for orthopaedics and musculoskeletal medicine. I kicked off my career in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, getting hands-on with fractures, joint injuries, and complex musculoskeletal issues. At the same time, I completed an MSc in skeletal tissue biology at University College London, diving into tissue regeneration—something that still influences my practice today.

After becoming a radiologist through the respected Wessex Clinical Radiology Training Programme, I did a fellowship at the well-known Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, focusing on complex orthopaedic imaging, diagnosing bone and soft tissue tumors, and advanced image-guided techniques.

I was appointed as a consultant at University Hospital Southampton in 2017, where I spent 8 great years developing my love for diagnostic imaging and image-guided treatments in musculoskeletal radiology. I took on the role of clinical supervisor for resident doctors and was really involved in medical education both at the hospital and University of Southampton.

In my private practice, I provide a wide range of diagnostic imaging—from ultrasound to MRI and CT—and also offer treatments like therapeutic injections, spinal interventions, and orthobiologic therapies, including Platelet Rich Plasma and Arthrosamid.

I’ve published a lot in my field, including some award-winning research on musculoskeletal ultrasound. Plus, I love teaching, mentoring, and reviewing articles for top radiology journals. My patients often say I’m clear, reassuring, and thorough—qualities that I think are just as crucial as technical skills.

As someone who enjoys sports, I totally get the need to get back to full function, whether you’re a pro athlete or just want to move without pain. My simple goal? To mix advanced imaging, evidence-based treatments, and real empathy to provide the best musculoskeletal care out there.
